Frequently asked questions.
What is Hot Foil..
Hot Foil is a method of print where heat and pressure are used to transfer foil to a surface.
Your design is etched or engraved into a metal ‘die’ and stamped onto your chosen surface. It is a technique that offers bright, defined, metallic results - a unique look that suggests quality and hints at luxury - a finish that is unachievable through any type of digital print.
Hot Foil is also known as Hot Stamping, Foil Blocking and Foil Stamping.
Types of foil..
Within the industry, each type of application is assigned a reference known as a grade. Hot foil grades are determined by the type and quantity of adhesive that is used with foil.
We are happy to advise any of our customers on the right foil choice for your project.
Shades of foil..
